Existing floor painted by staff in house over many years. Condition of coating, flaking in places, some areas back to bare concrete.

Lots of machine oil on floor from the lathes and engineering processes.

Main risks were staff slipping as floor had no grip.

Constant cleaning because of pieces of flaking paint and dust.

We had a Friday and weekend to remove all existing coating using our three phase industrial grinders attached to our three motor vacuums

Once we had got all the old paint removed and achieved a complete clean surface our application process could begin.

The oil was mainly on the surface and the grinding process removed all of it so there was no need for an Oil Tolerant Primer.

These clear, easy-to-apply, high strength epoxy resin sealers are designed to provide an effective membrane against residual oil contamination in concrete substrates. This product can be applied in wide range of environments where there has been high exposure to oil leading to residual contamination. These conditions are common to MOT bays, engineering workshops and many other warehouse and factory spaces. This primer is ideal for use prior to the application of a epoxy coating

Our specification was a two coat application of solvent free high build epoxy resin with a quartz aggregate incorporated into it to create a hard-wearing profiled finish

We would expect this system to last six years or longer with care and good house keeping .

Our expectations are based on the thousands of square metres we install every year in various environments
